MARCH 2021

Dear Supporter and Member:

It is with great excitement that I announce the launch of our Pontiac Marketing & Promotions Bureau (PMB) website. Over the last few years as a committee and coalition, we have worked to bridge the gap of communication, marketing, promotion, and support for the activities and image of our great city, the business community, and residents. Needless to say, we have had to meet many challenges, obstacles, and objectives in our effort to be as inclusive, informative, and current as possible. All with a committed effort that we could and would meet the needs of our members, residents, supporters, and businesses. Your input, ideas, suggestions, and feedback have been most valuable to the success of this project – the development of our website.

We all can support, The Pontiac Marketing & Promotions Bureau (PMB) website, and we hope it will long reflect our GPCC and Committee of 50 Coalition’s positive image. This (PMB) website is properly segmented with useful information designed to be helpful to our youth, seniors, businesses, community residents, visitors, colleges, universities, and more. This site will host a section for input, opinions, an area for good news and achievements, a section with an opportunity to advertise events or gain marketing support. The Pontiac Marketing & Promotions Bureau (PMB) in the Loop will reach your targeted audience and limit duplication. This website will grow as we grow and become a vital tool to ALL. We will be able to share:

  • News of new and upcoming businesses moving in our city. Words and messages from our city leaders, corporate executives, local residents, and Board of Education members.
  • The Lorene Phillips Scholarship information center will highlight scholarships and educational opportunities.
  • The Michigan Workforce section will identify state-wide programs.
  • A section on Leadership Training by the Oakland University/Pontiac Initiative, themed Hubert M. Price Jr. Leadership Symposium and as if that is not enough information on many of the non-profit social services available to the community.
  • Health News and information
  • A section for churches to promote their ministry social service activity.
  • Resident and community groups/announcements.
  • A Bi-Lingual section from LaAmistad
  • Identify what’s Happening On Main Street so we can visit, shop, and relax downtown.

To say I am excited is a small expression of my enthusiasm for the work of our communication committee. They did a GREAT JOB, so thanks, Theresa, Tom, Glen, Lisa, David, and Julia, for your lead and accomplishment.

Dear Supporter and Member:

Are you in the LOOP? Are you telling your story? Storytelling is a powerful way to make an impact on your audience, controlling your narrative and promoting your business – no matter the subject, no matter the community. The Pontiac Marketing & Promotions Bureau (PMB) seeks to provide a community medium for the Marketing, Promotional and Public Relation Business Professionals (PR), alongside Community Leaders to effectively voice their accomplishments, success stories, job opportunities, project development announcements, and other local news.

We envision a support system that promotes the continued growth and development of the City of Pontiac. In particular, the revitalization of downtown Pontiac, the Historic District, Suburbs, Businesses, Schools, Community groups religious organizations, and entrepreneurs from each side of the City. The PMB offers to act as the extended arm within the Greater Pontiac Community Coalition’s nonprofit economic development organization and The Committee of 50 to help increase visibility, accessibility, tourism, and proper representation in support of Pontiac Businesses, the City of Pontiac, Residents, and other surrounding communities within Oakland County.

PMB has a membership crafted to cultivate the Marketing and Promotional community within the City of Pontiac and throughout Oakland County. PMB will provide inner City and County Marketing professionals with educational, networking, and leadership opportunities geared towards an effective and united marketing plan to our area of focus, but also, providing an open and equal opportunity to branch out, network, and invite other cities to join in our efforts for effective change.

If you have a passion for community, building, and rebranding if you have vested interested in changing your image or ideas of the City of Pontiac and uniting the surrounding area the Pontiac Marketing and Promotion Bureau can assist this effort. Become a member.

Join us and let's promote the positive of the Great City of Pontiac!

MAY 2021

Dear Supporter and Member:

Opportunity, we just recently learned that the City of Pontiac would receive up to $37.7 million, as a result of the work and efforts of Congresswoman Brenda Lawrence and the Biden Administration. This news comes with a great Opportunity, yes, an Opportunity for our city, our local leaders, and our residents. Opportunities do not always come to us, nor do they always arrive at the right time for us or our City of Pontiac; Therefore, we should welcome this great Opportunity and recognize this is the right time.

This should galvanize our coming together to get alone, work together, and do what is right and good for our city and its residents. We now have the Opportunity to show what working together can do and what is right for our city's future.

  • Yes, Opportunity and Together, we can build a great and modern youth recreation center.
  • Yes, Opportunity and Together we can build a modern, up-to-date, and functional senior citizen facility.
  • Yes, Opportunity and Together we can update our Pontiac Library.
  • Yes, Opportunity and Together we can build a banquet facility in our city.
  • Yes, Opportunity and Together we can fix up our Parks.

We have this Opportunity to use these funds to benefit and better serve our residents and our city. Now, if we can all just get along and do something positive and great for our City, we will make history, so can we come together – Not Me, Not You, but US Together for Pontiac?

A funny thing about Opportunity you must grab it when it comes to you for when it turns away; all you have is I woulda, shoulda, coulda. Let’s not miss this Great Opportunity.

Join us and let's promote the positive of the Great City of Pontiac!
